I find it interesting that with all of the scrutiny that the Immigration Bill is under going in the Congress and Senate and by the citizenry of the US, t No where does it, or anyone, address the issue of spawning ground of the problem.... Mexico. Your segment on the illegal documentation in Mexico and the cottage industry that has sprung up around what has become a massive problem for this country shows just how immasculated our politicians and Washington bureacrats have become. Left or right, W or Pelosi, Reid or McCain, the entire lot of them have shown nothing in the way of courage, backbone, muchless any administrative ability in dealing with this nation strangling issue, at it's known source. They succeed only in muddying the water by hurling blame at the other side and side stepping the real issues of the issue....Apparently, it is merely a selection process where they chose the lesser of the two evils (that being, which is going to cost them fewer votes), instead of protecting those that have voted them into office to begin with....the illegals certainly haven't and they've all came from, or through, Mexico...Thank god we're not geographically connected to China, can you imagine that scenario.....Although, in that instance the politicians could adopt a phrase often used on the mainland....mao-min-tai....which means..."no Problem".... We already have laws inplace that haven't been enforced, now we're bebating new legislation that won't work and even if it does, the best estimate is that it will reduce the illegals entering the US by no more than 12%......Isn't it time that we address, at least in part, Mexico's responsibilty in this disgrace and what THEY are going to do about it???? Instead of charging the illegals some theoretical amount (that they won't pay anyway), why not place a punitive fee on the heads of the 12 million that are already here, and have Mexico pay to underwrite the cost(s) of the fence that should have been built to begin with...

Your 19 June report stated something of the effect that El Paso is one of the safest cities. I don't think so. Please check that statement out as when we used to travel there, we feared for our vehicle as they were being stolen out of parking lots and motels like bubble gum from a convenience store.

As usual, Tom Aspell’s report from the Gaza Strip was excellent. His knowledge of the Middle East is reflected in all his reporting.

I am proud to be an United States of America Citizen. To see Mexican people cross illegally to live, work, or go to school without paying for their education is very disheartening. Where is our country heading and when are we going to take care of ourselves? Our system can not support them all.

Thanks Brian for showing the problems with forged documents and crimes these illegal aliens are commiting everyday. We need to protect our borders at all cost.

If Immigration bill: Father returns to Mexico after about 8 years to obtain legal entry to US. Leaves family, job, 401K, house & car payments, support of family. Goes back with no job and indefinite wait. Is this practical? (they won't go back).

Brian, we're excited about your coming to El Paso and hope you will return as, I'm sure, you will realize that although El Paso is out of the way, the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez metroplex is one of the largest border communities in the world and should be the prime focus for news organizations during the ongoing national discussion on immigration. For your information, El Paso Community College has one of the largest English as a Second Language programs in the nation.
