FEDS NIX DIX PLOT
I have to believe the title of today's blog will be the tabloid headline somewhere after the story we all woke up to this morning -- the story we will report on tonight. Bob Windrem has written a great post on this story below. We'll also cover the wrath of nature in various parts of our country. While we aired but a snippet of it last night, what a strange confluence of events it was when we learned that our NBC affiliate in the area had just done a feature on the very same Kansas town that twisters later destroyed.
By being in Washington yesterday (where my wife and I accepted an invitation to attend a party with the Queen and Prince Phillip at the British Embassy) I missed our first day in the new office space -- my co-workers toasted the construction crew, offering the thanks of the staff for the incredible work they did. Tonight we debut studio 8G, and the moment I'm done with this post it's off to the studio to take a look at how it all looks on camera.
We hope you'll join us for tonight's Nightly News.
The crew responsible for making the 'Nightly News' temporary offices very comfortable and workable and, most imporantly, right on time.

I was happy to see another person spotted Brian's, NBC's, and much of the Western Press' strange use of the term Yugoslavians to describe these men -when, in fact, they are ethnic Albanians - from Kosovo. Remember Kosovo? Where we went to war to supposedly protect them from the terrible Serbs? Kosovo, where in the past decade the Albanians have cleansed the remaining Serbs while the NATO crowd just looked on and the Western Press has turned a blind eye? Kosovo where White Slavery and Drugs are the main exports? Ungrateful is a mild name for these men. We fight a war for them, then give them safe sanctuary, and they repay us by stabbing us in the back at the first opportunity.

What a shame that Innocent Muslims who wish only peace and that their religion be understood fall under the shadow of suspicion because of persons like the six misguided young men filled with hatred and lacking the wisdom to see realities. However, I fear it is the responsibility of these Innocent Muslims to be aware of the rebels in their own communities and to be watchful of their activities. To report strange behavior and words of hatred and to send the message that they do not approve, and to be willing to hold them accountable, even betraying them if called for. I think that's the best way to win our trust and respect.

I get that these folks are dangerous, because of their unpredictability and under-the-radar nature -- but how dumb do you have to be to make a video of yourselves training for jihad, and then take it down to the local photomart?

What upsets me most about the Kansas tornado is that it utterly wiped out the communities fire station and all of its emergency apparatus with it. That is utter negligence for a fire station to be as vulnerable to a natural disaster (in that region no less) as the surrounding community it was supposed to be there to protect. I’ve advocated that such buildings be round or octagonal which allows the wind to go around them like those grain silos that are still standing right in the middle of the town. We need far better municipal buildings that combine fire, police, and medical facilities in a hardened bunker of a building that can withstand anything. Our police, ambulance, and fire units need to have lightly armored vehicles that can go offroad, around such debris, and that are even amphibious in other areas. To think that they must go in when hurricane winds go over 45 mph is appalling. This un-preparedness and lack of concern pervades our very society.

I've always believed that overseas Terror groups, like Al - Q'aeda, wouldn't attack us here because they are using the U.S. for FUND - RAISING. Before 9/11, Al - Q'aeda didn't need us because they had money coming from the Saudi Wahhabi, Egypt & Pakistan. This group in New Jersey was probably 'home - grown'. This reminds me of "D.C. Sniper" John Muhammed, Oklahoma City or the D.C. Anthrax attacks ( U.S. "cells", w/ connections to Muslim Terrorists. ). Terrorism is an effective weapon, for MANY groups w/ 'agenda's'.

Why didn't you report that 3 of the 6 men arrested in the plot against Ft.Dix were in this country illegally? If you are to report the news , report it accurately and fully . Your agenda is showing.

In reference to the Fort Dix Plot I am a bit "amused" by the reported story and the fact that it was not correct. Politically and geographically speaking 3 of the muslims are not from Yugoslavia since Yugoslavia fell apart years ago. These 3 can only be Albania Muslims from Kosovo. My family is from Serbia (former Yugoslavia) and we would not like to be identified with these ingrates in any way shape or form. Please do us some justice and report the story so that there are no misunderstandings.
God Bless the USA!!!

The fact that there were terrorists in Cherry Hill, trying to murder innocent American soldiers, is a wake up call for New Jersey. If we were not serious before about extra security for our nation, this is the tip of the iceberg. America needs to stand proud and strong, through all power struggles like we did today and be thankful to the FBI, State Troopers and especially the civilian who reported it and prevented a terrorist attack today.

Good Evening Mr.Williams, I am happy that you and your wife were able to attend a party with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. I certainly hope you had a splendid time with them at the British Embassy. The picture of the crew is really nice! They look like nice people and I enjoy seeing the monitors and tv screens in the background. With regards to the story about Fort Dix I think that is horrible that people can be so cruel in planning to hurt soldiers at all these different bases. There should never be any road to a base that is not secured. It was really good that the plot was stopped and the men caught. I hope there comes a day that we will never have to worry about these plots being planned. I hope it comes soon. Looking forward to the broadcast. Peace to all!
