Missed opportunity Brian. Instead of just coverage of the record speed run of the TGV, why not use this as a hook to do some in-dpeth coverage of the state of passenger rail in the US? You said it yourself in your story that the TGV is "nothing like anything here in the United States." So, doesn't that beg the question: Why not?

Suggestion--show the video of the French train that went 357 mph. COOL!!! Imagine--NY to DC in 1 hr--in comfort and no hassles! Watch it and weep!

With so much bad news happening in the US it's good to hear some goods news for a change. Speaker Pelosi is making a difference and with God's blessings and her attitude of peace things make be settled with the Middle East. At lease it's a good start after 6 years of chaos. I wondered what leader who step forward now I see that leader. All it took was what the study group of wise men/women said is listening and talking. We have a long way to go to clean up the corruption and mess in the United States. Thanks to Speaker Pelosi were rebuilding our respect overseas. Maybe Maxman can find out more information from the Middle East as to the investigations he's doing. In all it's a light at the end of this very dark tunnel Bush has put us in. All my prayers are with her and her team of both Republicans and Democrats.
