I've had 2 licensed in the last 2 years. Some of their more memorable mistakes have occured with me in the car during the permit period. One tipped a Dodge Caravan on 2 wheels by turning left at 40 and the other almost took out a store window by mistaking the accelerator for the brake. I let the driving school take them on I-95 and I still won't let them drive me on the turnpike. Knock on wood, we've had no accidents so far, but the insurance bill for 4 cars and 2 teenage male drivers is more than I paid per year for law school.

Brian -

Some of you may remember my mentioning a local wounded soldier who prompted a Comfort Afghan from our yarners newsgroup last year. Her name is Marissa Strock and she is the woman on the cover of this week's Newsweek.

More details of her recovery can be found at:http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=567311&category=RENSSELAER&BCCode=&newsdate=3/1/2007

Brian,
I remember all too well when our children got their driver's permits and then their regular driver's. I remember it being very difficult to see them head out for the first time alone. Oh, who am I kidding their all married now and I still worry. LOL Now we are beginning to hear the rumblings of our grandson as he is talking about when he gets his license and "hey grandma do you think grandpa will let me drive the camaro"? Not a chance! Have fun with your drivers. They reach adulthood much too fast.
