Beyond the Cultural Myths

Sen. Hagel, like other Nebraskans-Bob Kerry, Johnny Carson, Dick Cavett, has seen and been a part of the outside world away from the provincialism of the mercantile interests that keeps Nebraska living in the past, from football to cultural and historical trends.

Though I'm from the Trotskyite Leftie-East Maniacs, I have to give admiration to Hagel's political courage in the face of winnowing criticism from the hawks and chicken-hawks of the Cornhusker state.

He has stood up to the AWOL LT, playing the Decision-Maker President of his own political party. He stood up for what the scaredy-cat Demvesters were unwilling to do as the supposed loyal opposition. He has transcended party affiliation by his actions.

Because of that Hagel should ally himself with Jim Webb who's also beyond political timidity and who doesn't throw Truth under the bus for party or political correctness to the moneychanger manipulators of the Yahoos.

Despite the intriguing possibility of impeaching and convicting Bush and Cheney for high crimes and misdemeanors so to let Madame Pelosi rise to be the Mother of our Country, I have hopes that Hagel and Webb rise above their erstwhile party affiliations and run together as Independents.

As independents they have the portfolio that is more compelling than what either the Republicans or Democrats could put forth. John McCain is crashing on the fumes of his POW stint in Vietnam as his Straight-Talk Express becomes more and more the Political Expedient Express. The Dems will triangulate themselves into oblivion since the masses from the ethnic groups to the working class know that they have been thrown under the bus for the sake of moneyed interests disguised as in euphemisms of world prosperity.

Hagel and Webb have lived the experience of those who've lived the negative consequences of anachronistic and misconceived policies foisted on the trusting for the benefit of the few. They know what it is literally like being at the front-lines of b.s.-policies. Their political policy experience gives them the added perspective of the levers that can serve the general welfare rather than serve the few.

For these reasons and more not yet articulated, I urge Hagel and Webb to lead the 21st Century Political Revolution of the Grass Roots versus the Virtual Dissemblings of the Money-Changers and their flunky media and political classes.
