Brian, regarding the Iraq Study Group you asked "are we at our best when our best and brightest" get together on these grand bipartisan commissions? Given the resounding failure of the ISG report to gather support from anyone in Washington, the answer to your question is "NO". The only thing newsworthy about the ISG was its revelation that James Baker still carries water for the Saudis and still hates Israel. As he succinctly put it in the early nineties, "F--- the Jews, they don't vote for us anyway."
