The Iraq study group report isn't even out a day and already Bush is running around the world saying he isn't going to remove any troops, we will "prevail" in Iraq, yada yada yada. Does this man ever consider that he is painting himself into a corner by speaking out against the committee's suggestions before his team even has a chance to evaluate them?
I have to agree completely with Dave of TN on the offshore oil issue. It's crazy that states like California, which are probably more dependent on oil than any place on earth, so heavily restrict drilling. And it's not just a Democratic thing - Jeb Bush in Florida supported a ban on offshore drilling there. Yet noone in this country has a problem with offshore drilling in Abu Dhabi.

Here is another interesting story about record oil profits. Hardly a right wing propaganda wing either. :-)

The prices started going back up because the democrats won. The Oil companies know we're fixing to return to the good ole days of Jimmy Carter price controls.
I love how you people block us from doing any drilling at home, but have no problem having oil companies go out and drill in countries with no EPA restrictions. Not to mention those lost UNION jobs for domestic workers.
Yeah no problem with two communist countries drilling 50 miles off our coast. God forbid we do the same. Silly democrats :-)
We need to be doing everything!! Drilling, alternative fuels, hybrid. etc. ALL OF IT!!

Hello Brian:
Anyone noticing the recent rapid rise in gasoline prices at the pump lately. Please spare me as I am not acclimated to stomach another Bush fabricated coincidence that the price of gasoline wasn’t manipulated for a Republican advantage during the recent election. OK, just another failed idea for a flawless president who sure seems to make a lot of mistakes. But it would be a good story to find out just by what group and how the manipulation occurred. Now that it is known to exist, it may lead to some interesting and noteworthy journalism. Should I start getting ready for the previously forecasted 4 dollar a gallon gas?
