About this blog
The Daily Nightly began on May 31, 2005. As Brian wrote in his first post it aims to provide a narrative of the broadcast day and a window into the editorial process at NBC Nightly News. Brian weighs in every weekday and NBC News correspondents and producers post regularly.
Brian Williams became the seventh anchor and managing editor in the history of NBC Nightly News on December 2, 2004. Read his full biography.

Sometime I would like to hear from Brian or MSNBC about the hierarchy of the Islamic religion in the U.S. and what they may or can, be doing, if anything, about bringing about a resolution to the Islamic civil war in Iraq.

The Teach for America was great story. I hope that group continues to grow, and gain support.

Brian,
We wish you all the best for continued success as you celebrate your two year anniversary as anchor of Nightly News.
One question, which we hope you will respond to in your blog: is it satellite technology which allows you to send a blog entry from 36,000 feet while flying? We are always told that cell phones and other communication devices must be kept in their "off position" while flying as they interfere with avionics..perhaps satellite transmission is different. In any event, thanks for all your efforts this week! Enjoy your weekend.

To Joe from Philly- "oh so you are going to blame it (weather) on Global Warming to advance the left's agenda." Why did you say something like that? B/c NBC News is reporting on a news worthy item that effects millions of people in the middle of the country? Why don't to express a little empathy for people who live in the area wher the temperture may get 15 degrees who do not have any heat because of power outages instead of sitting at your computer making such an insenstive comment. Seriously!!
To Mr. Williams,
you did a great job and read a blog from someone who wished you a happy anniversiry for being the NBC Nightly News anchor. Congrads as well from me. I'm really happy that you had a safe flight home. Ihope ypu will be able to relax, spend some quality time with your family, and get some sleep. :)

Congratulations on two years at the top, Brian!! You and your team have done a great job. And thank you for this blog. I find it extraordinary that you can write so well so quickly...and that you take the time to keep us informed. Well done!

Brian, you and the team at NBC are doing great work! We really appreciate your efforts going out to locations such as Jordan to be on the ground where events are happening.

Happy Anniversary tomorrow, Mr. Williams!
Two years later and you are still number one.

Hey Brian, I hope you got to listen to Rush today. I know it's a prerequisite to relaying the "news".

Brian, welcome home! At least you're safely on the ground! I hope you can just crash this weekend and do nothing; after the week you've had, you've more than earned it!
Thanks for keeping us in YOUR thoughts .. it's wonderful to hear from you (adored the flight blog this morning!) and it's fascinating to learn more about the "behind the scenes" events. Thanks for the enlightenment!

Judging from the radar map I just saw on WVIT 30, all hell should break loose about the time you're heading home. High winds, severe T-storms. I just did the flashlight inventory and told the teenagers to be careful driving.

Thanks for your comments about flying JR. Have similar experiences from El Al and KLM. I appreciate the more personal and somewhat more spontaneous reporting in your blog.

Hey Brian, I give you a ton of credit for being this aggressive in your blogging even though I can't even imagine how tired you are.
It's why you're #1.

"Weather will be a component in our reporting tonight."
