It absolutely amazes me at the level of expertise we as "average" citizens poses particularly as regards the running of this country, considering that most people have a hard time running their own family, go figure. The inability to even remember why we went to war or the loss of ~3,000 innocent Americans on 9/11 really speaks volumes you know. Maybe if a high yield nuke were dropped on San Francisco you would be inclined to remember it for 5 or 6 years, who knows. I’m sure George, Laura, Barbara and Jenna sit around in the evenings thinking up new ways to kill GI’s and Innocent civilians, my oh my. I’m’ sure Bush another good advisor, why don’t you apply since you are so well informed.

As far as the number of civilian deaths in Iraq, let’s see, between 426,000 and 600,000 I think. Sounds impressive, but it doesn’t take a few things into consideration. Like 150, 000 deaths (mostly children) every year before the war (3.5 years ~ 525,000 lives spared). Far be it for us to seek the truth, but let’s take a stab here … a vast majority of the current civilian deaths in Iraq are a direct result of insurgent and terrorist attacks or civil attacks upon themselves, not because of our GI’s. Oh contraire, our GI’s are the only thing keeping the civilian deaths to such a low level! Do things like ethnic cleansing ring a bell?

The media’s slant on the war in Iraq is little more than a misleading ‘don’t-confuse-us-with-the-actual-facts’ misrepresentation of what is actually happening. Sure, there is a lot of things broken there that needs to be worked on, but look at our own country … aren’t we in need of a lot of fixing too … and we have been a viable Democracy for well 230 years, while the Iraqis have been so for what, 6 months. Look back at our history, see how long it took us and try to be a little reasonable.

Well, as I see it the 2,808 that were killed or died in Iraq, died because of the religious right backing an President and his administration, that does not know nothing about combat. As I see it they all back Bush but will never go an support the war. They want other people to go fight there battles. for there believes. What hypocrites.
It is not about 9/11 or terrorism, it is about a personal agenda on behalf of the Bush family. But they want to thank the families who sons, brother, daughters, sisters, mother, fathers, uncles, aunts, and grandparents who died in vein, and for the cause. I FORGOT WHAT CAUSE?
But if they continue to control the Congress, the whole world will look at us as being dumb Americans.

I believe that the Iraq statistics should also include the number of Iraqi civilians killed. Every life -Iraqi or American - is equal and important. We went to went war and attacked them.
