The Daily Nightly from NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams

About this blog

The Daily Nightly began on May 31, 2005. As Brian wrote in his first post it aims to provide a narrative of the broadcast day and a window into the editorial process at NBC Nightly News. Brian weighs in every weekday and NBC News correspondents and producers post regularly.

Brian Williams became the seventh anchor and managing editor in the history of NBC Nightly News on December 2, 2004. Read his full biography.

Early Nightly is up

Earlynightly_15In today's vlog, Brian recounts yesterday's plane crash in Manhattan and asks some of the questions that now require answers.

Also... find out which two NBC News veterans will appear in tonight's broadcast. Here's a hint: One of them has a ranch in Montana.

Brian....the piece from Tom Brokaw might as well have been sponsored by the Democratic Reelection Committee. Tom interviewed a newspaper editor who was a Democrat and a disgruntled Republican. Where was the interview of a Republican who is a Bush supporter to make it fair and balanced? Statements from Brokaw like - "these days, Montanans aren't giving his(Bush's) administration any parardes" and "for Burns and other GOP candidates, the toughest opponent maybe their own party" are clearly liberally biased opinions, not news (this is the NBC nightly NEWS isn't it?) I'll get my news elsewhere if you can't present political stories fairly for both parties. Craig

What is going on with the media not reporting about Harry Reid. I mean expose all of these politicians! Not just one side. They are all crooked. Come on Brian you are one of the fair ones.

Brian:

Do you plan to report about Harry Reid's questionable dealings in real estate?

And what does this mean for the Democrats? Do they need to clean up their side of the Senate?

The Associated Press broke this story yesterday.

Thought you should know, in case you weren't paying attention.
