THURSDAY OUTLOOK
TRACKBACKS
Watching last night's broadcast I was struck again by the amount of commercial breaks that occur during the broadcast. I am curious to know if the amount of time devoted to commercials now is the same as 10 years ago, and 20 years ago for that matter.
I realize that like most everything else the news is a business in and of itself. It just feels like more time is going to commercials than ever before. Would love to know if that is real or just my own perception.
I know the timing of this may appear strange given the cost cutting measure announced today. Understand cost cutting is going on everywhere, the division I am in at my company is cutting costs by 30%, does anyone else hear the word layoffs?
Thanks!

I was one of the many adults who watched or sometimes listed to "In The News". Christopher Glenn had a voice that I could distinguish from many others. It was a calm voice and the words seemed measured. Recently, I discovered him again doing the news. The voice was the same as I remembered. He will be missed.
