The Daily Nightly from NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams

About this blog

The Daily Nightly began on May 31, 2005. As Brian wrote in his first post it aims to provide a narrative of the broadcast day and a window into the editorial process at NBC Nightly News. Brian weighs in every weekday and NBC News correspondents and producers post regularly.

Brian Williams became the seventh anchor and managing editor in the history of NBC Nightly News on December 2, 2004. Read his full biography.

Brian, PLEASE do not let the Lisa Myers investigation into the anti-RPG weapons system and Raytheon die. Besides the fact that this will undoubtedly cost the lives of young U.S. soldiers who badly need a workable anti-RPG weapon as soon as possible (such as 'Trophy"), it sounds like the cozy Army relationship with Raytheon is just the "tip of the iceburg." I know that you have spent two nights on this and have made the whole investigation available on-line, but people should be screaming about this. Why do I think that Col. Kotchman will be working for Raytheon when he eventually retires from the U.S. Army at full pension? All we need is Rumsfeld patting him on the back and saying "Nice job Donny!".

David! Please if you ever have the chance at a conference, ask how president bush thinks the framers would have felt about the secret prisons.

Otherwise, tonight sounds extremely interesting with the return to those who voted in 04. Sounds great.
