The Daily Nightly from NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams

About this blog

The Daily Nightly began on May 31, 2005. As Brian wrote in his first post it aims to provide a narrative of the broadcast day and a window into the editorial process at NBC Nightly News. Brian weighs in every weekday and NBC News correspondents and producers post regularly.

Brian Williams became the seventh anchor and managing editor in the history of NBC Nightly News on December 2, 2004. Read his full biography.

All politics, all the time

Just a note to let you know that we've launched a new blog in the mold of The Daily Nightly. First Read has been around for years now, but it's got a brand new bloggy look. NBC's Political Unit will do most of the heavy lifting, but you'll also get daily dispatches from NBC correspondents and producers covering politics and the campaign trail as Decision 2006 heats up. I'll continue to post political stuff here in The Daily Nightly when it relates to stories we're working on for the broadcast.

I must agree.

GE isn't in the business of biting the hand that feeds it, and that, to a large extent, is BushCo.

Pardon the acclaim if it is truly acclaim, but FIRST READ comes across a little(?) to the FAR right! It seems to me more of a right-wing paradigm than a truly centered location for any kind of posting. When you have had MASTHEADs for this FIRST READ, the general trend has been to upbraid W. and his shenanigans rather than to shed light on them. Given that corporations own MSNBC, is it possible that this is only a means to soften the dire Hell-bent purposes of this administration through soft-peddling of his antics? FIRST READ IS THEREFORE SUSPECT IN MY MIND!
