The Daily Nightly from NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams

About this blog

The Daily Nightly began on May 31, 2005. As Brian wrote in his first post it aims to provide a narrative of the broadcast day and a window into the editorial process at NBC Nightly News. Brian weighs in every weekday and NBC News correspondents and producers post regularly.

Brian Williams became the seventh anchor and managing editor in the history of NBC Nightly News on December 2, 2004. Read his full biography.

The not-so-Early Nightly is up

Brian said it would happen from time to time, given his often busy schedule, and today is one of those days. But he did find time to talk to our cameras about what's planned for tonight's broadcast. Click the link to the right (below the advertisement) to watch. As always, Brian will have more to say, in writing, this afternoon, following our 2:30 p.m. EDT editorial meeting.

Amanda -- 3 at home ... just 1 here at work. But I tested it on three other computers in the newsroom. :-)

Rob,
Dare I ask, just how many computers do you have?

Thanks Rob - You guys are great...
I really look forward to this segment where I can watch Brian cover what's on his mind. Your efforts are pulling in some of us web news readers. I used to watch the news with my Dad as a kid growing up...Brian has what it takes to achieve that for this generation who need to see what NBC has to offer.
All the best,

PW -- Try clearing your cache. If you're using Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options. In the options box, click Delete Files. It might take awhile, but after it's done, refresh the page and try to watch again. It's working on all of my computers.

Looks like yesterday's footage on the link.
