After reading through the above discussions concerning the media frenzy on the Ramsey girl there is nothing less for me to comment about it. I agree, enough is enough. Corporate heads are feeding our minds with crap. There are too many more important issues that should be in the headlights, many already mentioned. What about the story of Afgan Poppy fields flourishing under the guard of the US Government which obviously is impotent to stop it. $1.5 billion in revenues to the Taliban in the sort of like minded taxes the Viet Cong exhorted on the villagers in that country. Then that $1.5 Billion goes on the street and costs taxpayers in all countries more billions in the lawfullness it flowers. Shame on us for accepting the news of minor events and losing airtime that big problems affecting the entire planet deserve. Might be the economy of scale to legalize it and stop the profits at this point and plan for a few decades to outlaw it wen the timing is better.

To Janet White:
You should be president!! I'll be your campaign manager.
To the "strongly disagree," poster, that was priceless, I was laughing so hard - forgot I'm at work. :-)

I hope that the professionals in Colorado will look before they leap any further when it comes to Mr. Karr's role in this case. In watching the media coverage of Mr. Karr, it was eerily familiar. I was waiting for a "Jack Ruby" type of individual to jump out and shoot Karr.

Me too. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much Jon Benet.
George Bush just told a Federal court that he "strongly disagrees" with their ruling that he is violating the Constitution, and he's going to keep doing it.
Just remember that America (JonBenet defendant, too): if you find yourself in front of a judge, and you don't like a ruling, just say you "strongly disagree." Rule of Law says the judge has to set aside his ruling if the defendant "strongly disagrees."
Let's just make that drunken monkey Emperor, and get it over with!

Far to much is being made of the Ramsey Case. The guy wanted 15 minutes and the media is giving importance to a man who should already be in jail, for what he may have already done to other children. We have more important things to think about. Jobs leaving this country, insurance, port security, border security and Bush meddling in affairs the government has no business in. The man is an idiot, to bad he couldn't ride off into the sunset on the Harley he sat on and America would be a better place. Make your vote count in November.

I agree with Robert...this story is getting way too much press. I feel for the family. They had to survive all this the first time and will have to go through it all over again. I don't believe this guy's confession will hold up to any in-depth scrutiny, he just wants his 15 minutes of glory and the news media will give him days of coverage that isn't deserved and drive all the rest of us all insane with constant repetition.
We have more important issues in this country to deal with...like the lack of port security, Iran, Syria.....

Ok, I'd like to comment on a story that will with out a doubt be on the news tonight, and that has inundated the news thus far: The JonBennet Ramsey Case.
Honestly, for the love of G-d, how on earth is this of such national importance that it merits gavel to gavel coverage. I feel bad for the family and for the little girls death - but this sort of horrible act occurs all to often yet goes unreported; and in fact, the coverage if "missing/molested/killed" little children is so racially biased on TV it's not even funny.
Again, how does the news of an arrest in the JonBennet Ramsey case affect the Nation to the point it merits such high level coverage - it DOES NOT - the Media is all about sensationalism and I for one will tune out on this story, as will probably others!!
There are thousands dying in Iraq, a delicate truce in the Middle East, millions who are uninsured, millions without jobs, millions homeless, millions without food….yet the media has decided that some little girls death 10years ago merits national attention to the point of insanity - - it didn't deserve such attention then and it doesn’t now.

Bush is on TV touting the "pension plan revisions" in the new pension law. Bottom line: individuals who aren't rich can put up to $5,000 per year into their IRA accounts. He said "it is up to employers to fund pension plans" by and large.
This is a joke. Employers are dropping retirement plans in droves. As jobs move to China employers are cutting benefits to the bone.
One thing not mentioned: Bankruptcy Courts are letting employers "have relief" from old vested plans. Delco has applied for Court "relief" to let it drop pensions for people already retired.
How about the rich folks? They can use "defined benefit plans" that let them stash away hundreds of thousands of dollars per year tax free.
This isn't fair to the average person. It gets no press, no analysis in the MSM. If it got one tenth of the analytical coverage the JonBenet Ramsey case got, we'd all be better off.
The GOP "Culture of life." They care about the fetus, but after that.....you're on your own (unless you are rich, of course).

Israel attacked Lebanon and Hezbollah strongholds in Southern Lebanon when Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. Now that there is a cease-fire in place what is the fate of the two Irsaeli solders? Are they still kidnap victims or released hostages?
