About this blog
The Daily Nightly began on May 31, 2005. As Brian wrote in his first post it aims to provide a narrative of the broadcast day and a window into the editorial process at NBC Nightly News. Brian weighs in every weekday and NBC News correspondents and producers post regularly.
Brian Williams became the seventh anchor and managing editor in the history of NBC Nightly News on December 2, 2004. Read his full biography.

I find it surprising to see that in CA (I don't know in other states), drivers are still allowed to use their cellular phones (this was as of January of this year). I don't know if there was a law that now forbids drivers to use their mobile phones (while driving). From where I am now at (The Philippines), it is not allowed. I honestly think such a law should be passed. It's not as grave as a drunk driver hitting another car, but think of it this way-- how does it feel to know that you could have avoided an accident if you didn't gab away with your girlfriend while driving?

i saw brian williams at the conan o'brien show. i also heard the email you got about an unhappy fan .i love brian williams and the work he does. about the distracted drivers i dont think there is much we can do , except be alert of other drivers and to be as responsable when driving as we can.

Several years ago, I followed a female driver in route to Palo Alto, CA. In morning rush-hour traffic, I watched her brush her teeth, put on her makeup and arrange her hair. As I pulled up next to her at a stop light, I saw her hold up and shake out a pair of pantyhose. I pulled out when the light changed, but I can only assume she put on those pantyhose while in control (?) of a moving vehicle.

Please would you consider doning a story on this subject.
Please go to www.dangeroustrailers.com
These utility trailers are made poorly, maintained poorly and they kill people. Even in Virginia the State allows you to build your own without even having the materials tested.
Would you buy a car seat for your child that an indiviual made or would you buy one from babies r us one that meets a certain standard?
Would you buy a 4 star rated car for your family or a 1 star rated car?
Then why are we accepting these types of trailers??? Over 50% percent have some sort of failures. If 50% of Distracted Drives had accidents would that be acceptable????
I was featured in my local newspaper last week you may go here to view it.
