In the news this Saturday

For those of you traveling this holiday weekend, you might have noticed the price of gasoline.  As I filled up my tank today, the price was $3.15 a gallon for premium unleaded self service.  We have all watched the price of gasoline rise again over the past few weeks... along with the price of crude oil.  Tonight,  why prices are rising and what we can expect this summer at the peak of the travel season.

Also tonight... we get more from the front lines of the war in Afghanistan and NBC's Jim Maceda who has been embedded with the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division.  Jim's report explains the latest fight with the Taliban and how years after the U.S. landed there... the struggle continues in  that country.

From the Tennessee - North Carolina border tonight...  the tragic story of a bear mauling in the Cherokee National Forrst.  The bear killed a 6-year-old girl... and injured her mother and brother.  Tonight, the effort to find that bear and some advice for anyone who might come in contact with a black bear this spring.

And on this Easter weekend, a remarkable story of forgiveness in Boston, where a little girl paralyzed by a gunshot forgives her assailant in court.  We'll tell about the impact her message had on the court, the judge and the city of Boston.

Those are just a few of the stories we're working tonight.  We hope you join us for Nightly News.

I think that it is about time to assess from an economist just how much we can be gouged by the oil industry and yet not have an impact upon the national economy in general. Rising oil prices must have an effect upon a tottering economy at some point. If it can be discerned that oil pricing policies have been engendered to gouge that amount of income but perform the least amount of harm to an economy by skimming off only that portion of profit that does not drive this national economy into recession. Believe me, econometrists can assuage the blood out of a turnip so why can't oil profits be assuaged out of an economy but not drive that economy into recesssion. This would be most enlightening!

The Exxon shareholders will not like it that Chad will not produce oil unless they get paid. With all the tricks and lies by Bush and company now its time to pay. The US will have oil cost not heard of because the President is lying and stealing from other countries. When you dance with the devil( President Bush) you have to pay and we will pay.

The economics of getting gouged! Call it, Gouging 101! Or, how W. can get his oilmen to have their profits at the expense of his countrymen! "Oil! Oil, my country for some oil!" When one throws inefficiencies of economics into the market, it is only a matter of time before that market begins to sputter!

Brian and staff if you order pizza for your family start learning how to cook at pizza at home. Chad is giving deadline for $100m or they'll stop giving oil. Notice how well Bush is doing and now the lies have caught up with him/us. As Bush dictates to other countries they will start pushing back. Iran will be next. So look for oil prices never seen before and if you think $3/4/5 dollars is a lot think again. President Ford gave Iran nuclear material now Bush is telling the world what they can and can't do. Notice he isn't telling North Korea anything as they have no oil. This Administration is looking to control the middle east oil for Halliburton as it is building the pipe line. Brian we need a President. Rummy is dealing with our troops like he living in the FDR days. Good luck on pizza night.
