War Zone
On this Sunday morning, we were shaken by more sad news from Iraq.
ABC News journalist and co-anchor of World News Tonight Bob Woodruff and cameraman Doug Vogt were injured today by a roadside bomb in Taji, Iraq. At this hour, Woodruff and Vogt are out of surgery and reported in stable condition at the U.S. military hospital in Balad, where Vogt is also being treated. We are told they were traveling in a convoy with the Iraqi army when they were hit by an IED, or Improvised Explosive Device, the weapon of choice for insurgents who have used it to kill and maim so many Americans and Iraqis.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Woodruff family today.
We'll be following this story throughout the day and bring you the latest tonight on Nightly News.
